Ceramic or non-porcelain tile, generally made from red or white clay fired in a kiln, is always finished with a durable glaze that adds to the color and pattern. This type of tile is used for both wall and floor applications. Softer and easier to cut than porcelain tile, it is suitable for light to moderate traffic. It is also resistant to frost and more prone to wear or chipping than porcelain tiles.
Another natural stone, granite is not manufactured in a factory but is instead found in rock quarries and other natural land areas. It can be used outdoors or indoors, and is less porous than marble. It is recommended that you use a sealant to protect the flooring from stains and other damage.
Limestone tile is another type of surface that works great in homes and commercial environments. This natural material creates a soft, muted look in any room as its soft colors project light into any room as well. It can be used for floors and walls, as well cornice molding. Bisek Interiors has a variety of styles to choose from.
Marble is another natural product, and this type of tile is not made in a factory. Because of this, no two pieces of marble look the same, but veining is a characteristic in all marble. There are special sealants to help protect from staining the face. When cleaning, use extra care and avoid acidic or abrasive cleaners. Colas, some juices, and ammonia may destroy the finish as well.
Bisek Interiors also offers mosaic tile that is available in neutral or bright colors. Mosaic tile is designed with interlocking shapes that create an intricate pattern with one or several colors. These include brick glass, marble, hex marble, stone, and arabesque. Just some of the colors we carry include various shades of turquoise, earth tone browns and greens, oranges, and reds. Mosaic tile is made from glass, and includes frosted, mosaic, translucent, and wheat glass to name just a few.
Made from fine, dense clay porcelain tile is more scratch resistant than ceramic because of its harder body. Porcelain tile is fired at higher temperatures, which results in superior durability and ultimate stain resistance. Additionally, this ensures it is also frost proof and suitable for any application in commercial or residential settings. We carry this resilient tile in unglazed, high-polished, and matte options.
Bisek Interiors also offers slate tile with a variety of patterns available. This includes interlocking strips of tile, four square patterns, pencil rail designs, chevrons, and much more. Slate is a completely organic material that is versatile for use in bathrooms, kitchens, and backsplashes.
Without grout, most tile applications look unfinished. Mixing cement and adding color creates the dividing space between individual tiles. For floors with wider space between each, tile sand is added to the grout along with a liquid latex additive. Resiliency, ease of maintenance, and a penetrating sealant should be used on the grout. You may see a change in color to your grout over time, but that is completely normal.
